And Ode to Editors

Nobody likes to be criticized…
Nobody likes to be criticized...
…but boy am I thankful that there are people out there checking my work!

Everybody needs feedback on their work - whether they like it or not!

Sometimes the feedback is positive. It comes in the form of smiles on the faces of the customer or the reader. At other times it is critical - and whether it is spoken or not, you feel it.

The best feedback comes from people who you trust. People that have a vested interest in your success. Your peers, your spouse, your boss, etc. These people want you to succeed and, if they are open and honest with you, will tell you what you need to hear in order to improve.

You want this feedback early and often, though sometimes it is best given with a dose of compassion. After-all, if you are like me, you have some pride invested in your work, and in everything you do.

I am in the latter stages of releasing my first book called Bluetooth 1-2-3 and am excited that the book is nearing completion. Now is the time where I am getting the feedback from people whose opinion I trust on the quality of my writing, of my work!

Bluetooth 1-2-3

And let me tell you - I am learning a lot!

These are the Quality Assurance specialists of the writing world. They are the editors and I have a newfound respect for them already. Their job is not easy either. They need to read something on a subject that they are unfamiliar with, and provide feedback in a clear and concise way that I can absorb as the author.

THANK YOU to all those who provide constructive feedback on other people’s work in order to help them improve.

We all owe you a debt of gratitude!
